Dani Mata is a Senior at Sam Houston State University. They will be receiving their BFA in Studio Art in December, 2019. Her work focuses on childhood and the experiences of an immigrant family within personal memories of childhood.

Line Letter came from an instruction based idea. I gave family members and friends the instruction to write a letter about their experience immigrating and the reasons behind it. I was very moved by what people wrote and as an immigrant, I related to their experiences. I think it is important to give others the platform to open up about feelings they have probably never opened up about. The video is edited in ways it can be easy and hard to read, it is this way because that is how moving to a new place is, some things are easy to adjust to and other aspects are hard to get used to.
