Biography 

    Cale Herell is a multimedia Artist from Tomball Texas, currently living in college station. Cale is a full-time student at Sam Houston State University majoring in 2D studio art, and minoring in Photography. Interested in history, philosophy, phycology, music, and pop culture, Cale’s work explores a wide array of subject matter. Primarily focused on furthering his own practice as an artist and education, Cale is looking forward to graduating in 2020.

Artist statement 

    I’m interested in the questions, why our behavior is as it is, what we say, who we are and why, although they have no easy answers. The study of human behaviors, how we interact in various situations and environments, what causes these situations to arise, the innumerable outside influences that consciously and subconsciously effect how we navigate the world around us is never far from my thoughts. 

    Lately, I’ve been analyzing the concept of roads, their physical properties, and the subconscious rules we create around their idea, through maneuvering or existing. Everyone is aware of the impact and importance of roads and their physical presence. However, they also have an abundant amount of transcendental properties, some of which now are the philosophical principle that modern roads embody.
